Leadership — In start-ups, consultancies, and corporations I’ve established research and UX practices and held leadership roles across a breadth of disciplines that include research (OnTrak, GE Digital, Cheskin Research), digital product design and information architecture (Sapient, Personal Health Connections), and visual communications and brand (Pentagram, Siegel & Gayle).
I guide cross-functional teams and stakeholders in major initiatives across the project lifecycle – the ladder including everything from writing and pitching proposals, to charting a mixed method, problem solving approach, leading day-to-day project work, workshop facilitation and providing oversight on concept ideation, iteration, and testing.
Experience — I’m a creative problem solver and systems thinker, accustomed to wearing many hats to move with agility between big picture strategy and detailed project execution.
I have deep experience in conducting mixed methods research, reframing opportunities at the intersection of customer needs and business objectives and leveraging data and technology to define cross-channel experiences.
I create visual models and frameworks from diverse types of data to reveal non-obvious insights and build on them in stakeholder alignment workshops to co-create value propositions, roadmaps and product and service strategies.
Thought/Practice Leadership — I have a passion for evolving methods, and tools, configuring them to unlock ambiguous client problems and influencing the direction of product strategy.
My contributions in this area include building design and research repositories of best practices and tools, modeling Sapient’s IA process framework – used to establish a global IA practice, new offering development in data visualization and semiotic research (visual anthropology) for Cheskin Research and published articles on the role of visual modeling in design problem solving.
Education — I have a MDes in design research and strategy from the Institute of Design, IIT, a BFA in Visual Design and Communications from California College of the Arts and completed a design intensive study program at Yale in Brissago, Switzerland.
